About Us

Community Care is a Partner Department of the Conference of Churches of Christ in Victoria and Tasmania, responsible for the development and conduct of caring and benevolent programs.

Community Care is a not for profit, Public Benevolent Institution with tax deductible gift recipient status. It is organised for the direct relief of poverty, sickness, suffering, distress, misfortune, disability and helplessness.

Community Care aims to conduct and develop caring and benevolent programs in accordance with the spirit and teaching of Jesus including:

  • The provision of appropriate need to needy persons and families.
  • Assistance, guidance and a referral service to persons with personal and / or family problems.
  • Setting up and supporting welfare and social justice programs.

Community Care collaborates with organisations with complementary responsibilities and aims, and consults and supports local churches in matters related to caring for people.

Community Care services, projects and programs are for the general public, regardless of background, gender, age, ethnicity or religious affiliation.

We aim to care, stand alongside people and create communities where all people can find a place.
