Changes at Community Care Announcement

Aged Care Services

As of July 1, 2011 the aged care services of Community Care are now managed by Churches of Christ Care (a ministry of Churches of Christ in Queensland). This is as a result of the merger of the aged care services of both Conferences. Community Care – Victoria and Tasmania

As of July 1, 2011 Community Care is no longer involved in the provision of aged care services. As part of its transition from this date Monique ten Hoopen has been seconded from the Mission and Ministry department to the role of interim Executive Director of Community Care. Within this role Monique will continue to oversee CareWorks partnerships, Community Mission and Emergency Disaster Responses, maintain a collaborative partnership with Mission and Ministry and participate in reshaping Community Care for the future.

Churches of Christ Conference Council, at the request of the Community Care board, have formed a committee that will work on the future shape of Community Care. Committed to the continuation of CareWorks the Community Care board will also be looking at ways of initiating and encouraging the development of other benevolent programs and activities to fulfil its new charter.

Community Care continues to be a resource for local community ministry and mission. We look forward to the emergence of a new and exciting chapter of Community Care’s story, already more than 80 years long, see below.
