CareWorks Projects

LOCAL…DIVERSE…CARING COMMUNITIES

CareWorks seeks to serve local communities by working in partnership with churches to develop, utilise resources and operate community-based welfare projects, for the direct relief of poverty, suffering, distress, misfortune, disability or helplessness in the community. CareWorks is committed to faith in action, based on the faith community intentionally being involved in their geographical community, inclusive of all regardless of the recipient or participants’ religious beliefs.

CareWorks is committed to assisting churches for effective ministry to the poor and marginalised, providing direct relief but also facilitating empowerment and community development in the process.

CareWorks projects are various and diverse according to each setting and local resources, and churches and affiliated agencies enter a formal partnering agreement, a Memorandum of Understanding with Churches of Christ Community Care in Victoria and Tasmania. Community Care provides oversight to project leaders and churches, assistance with governance, management, networking, training and assists with resources where possible. Community Care also assists with, and supervises grants and funding that is applied and received by partnered projects.

Current projects are listed below. For further information about each program please contact the church directly.

For general enquiries or to make a donation, contact Community Care’s Central Office. Donations can be made to support Community Care programs in general, or you may elect a specific partnership. Either way donations should be made through Community Care.

Donations over $2 are tax deductible.
