Do Community Care homes provide a place
where I would be happy to live?
Each of our homes is located in suburban areas close to public
transport and shopping facilities. Garden areas are a feature
of the homes. Your room is regarded as your home. Dining
facilities and areas for social interaction are available
to residents.
What services are available, and how well
will these meet my care needs now and in the future?
Services include all care needs, and personal recreation
programs to meet your physical, mental and spiritual needs.
How
big are the rooms, and can I bring my own furniture?
Rooms vary in size and style. Some rooms have ensuite
facilities, and you are encouraged to bring your own
personal effects to make it home for you. Residents in
low level of care facilities are able to bring their
own furnishings.
Am I close to a bathroom?
If your room does not have an en suite, shared toilet
and bathroom facilities are close by to all rooms.
What
about the meals?
Meals are an important time for socialising with others,
and they are served in the dining rooms.
A quality food service is provided, and residents have
the opportunity to ensure varied and appropriate menus.
Is there a recreation program?
Each home has recreation staff who seek to design a personal
recreation program to suit you. Past recreational activities
are encouraged, whist you may be introduced to a range
of new areas. Your recreation program includes on site
activities, as well as a variety of outings, trips and
events.
What are my rights as a resident?
Each resident's rights are strongly upheld. Whilst
you are living in a community with its guide-lines, you
are encouraged to maintain your right to personal choice
and responsibility for your actions.
How are the fees paid?
Fees are paid monthly, in advance either by direct debit
to your bank account, or by cheque.
Can I visit the homes
before I decide?
We encourage you to take a look at your prospective
new home before making any other decision. You can
contact the Manager of the home who will be happy to
make an appointment with you.
